Overview
Mechanism: Ibogaine, from the Tabernanthe iboga root, acts on multiple receptor systems and is best known for interrupting opioid withdrawal and craving. A 2024 Stanford study of veterans with traumatic brain injury combined ibogaine with intravenous magnesium and reported large improvements in function, PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
